Handmade polymer clay earrings

No Shrinking Violet's pieces are inspired by their Australian heritage - the landscape and its people. The interwoven design of these earrings take inspiration from Aboriginal women who create baskets and containers to carry food and other items. These include soft string bags or dilly bags made from woven bush string and stiff baskets made from bulrushes, strips of palm fronds, and strips of cane. As they weave, they yarn and collect each other’s stories. This is a sacred time, and when finished, the basket carries not only their nourishment, but their community and spirit.
